Working in Partnership with Parents, Carers and Local Education Providers
Parents are the earliest educators in their children’s lives. The Department for Education (2011) recognises that effective partnership working with parents is based on the notion of equality that allows both sides to reach joint decisions when it comes to setting goals for the future and how to achieve these.
Observations made in relation to a child’s learning & development will be recorded within their own Learning Diaries. Parents are encouraged to contribute to these by communicating when they have observed progress or where they feel their child may require some additional support as this information will inform future planning. At Little Explorers we invite parents, reception teachers, childminders and other professionals involved to meet with the child’s key worker on a regular basis.
Respect is shown towards each family’s values in terms of lifestyle and behaviour management and where possible to promote continuity for the child these will be followed across into the setting.
Communication is very important to us. We like to ensure that we can all openly share any concerns or questions that may arise.
We welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that effect a positive outcome for the child. Sensitive issues will be discussed outside of regular hours either by phone or prearranged meeting. If you call during the day, please be aware that we may be busy with the children and may not be able to answer the phone. If you leave a message, we will call you back as soon as possible
We publish a newsletter that explains events that will be happening, holiday dates, and any other pertinent, fun or helpful information that may be of interest to you, and parents are always welcome to contribute.
"I would and do strongly recommend Little Explorers to others as a great place for their children. We are extremely happy with the care our daughter receives"
